Wurth Logistics AG, a logistics service provider serving the Würth group and external customers, faced escalating complexity in its transport operations and needed a major IT overhaul to support bundling, planning and multi-party freight settlement. Seeking tight integration with the parent group's SAP environment and easier collaboration with customers and logistics partners, Wurth selected inet logistics and its inet TMS as the core transportation management solution to replace aging systems and reduce manual processing.

inet logistics implemented the inet TMS, led project management, connected roughly 70 logistics service providers and integrated SAP and other ERP systems via certified interfaces. The platform automated freight-cost settlement (including a credit-note workflow), mapped negotiated carrier rates, generated carrier-specific shipping documents and used optimization algorithms to select best-value providers — cutting manual shipment preparation to a minimum, improving planning certainty for carriers, increasing transparency in freight costs and boosting overall process stability.
