Weiss-Rohlig in China faced a persistent last-mile communication problem: status updates, delivery slips and damage reports from drivers were slow or lost, phone calls were time-consuming, apps were too complex and GPS integration was often impractical or expensive. inet logistics was brought in to address these challenges using its iTrace solution.

inet logistics linked its TMS to the widely used WeChat messenger with iTrace so drivers simply scan QR codes, choose pre-configured status options and upload photos/documents from their smartphones; all documents and status updates appear in the inet TMS in close to real time. The result is dramatically faster and more reliable POD and status returns (previously taking 1–2 weeks, now near real-time), reduced manual calls and administrative effort, and smoother communication across shippers, LSPs and drivers.
