MAN Group - Customer Case Study

The MAN Group, a leading European transport-related engineering company, struggled to provide suppliers with the right number of empty containers across its dispersed plants—resulting in frequent over- and under-supply, high costs and heavy coordination effort. After a tendering process MAN Group selected inet logistics to deploy its Container Management solution to centralize and optimize empty container supply planning.

inet logistics implemented a web-based, centralized Container Management and Integration and Communication Platform that gives suppliers direct access, integrates with SAP, and adds Transportation Analytics for forecasting and KPIs. The inet logistics solution shifted MAN Group to a pull-based ordering process, delivered real-time visibility across sites, enabled usage-based container fee settlement, and reduced container inventories to required levels—eliminating unnecessary safety stock, cutting coordination effort and lowering error-prone manual communications.
