OEConnection, an award-winning technology leader in the automotive OE parts marketplace, needed to move away from a slow, manual monthly “mega build” release process that required weekend work, created approval headaches, and delayed other applications when one release slipped. The company turned to Inedo’s BuildMaster and professional services to help automate and modernize software releases across its mixed .NET and Java environment.

Inedo implemented BuildMaster to mirror OEConnection’s existing release workflow while automating build, deployment, and approval management. The result was a dramatic improvement: OEConnection now manages more than 450 production releases per year, reduced release planning from two full days to essentially no time, and saved an estimated 48 hours per week, or about 200 developer hours per month. BuildMaster also helped the team move from a monthly release cycle to weekly deployments, improving agility and freeing developers to focus on development work.
