Allrecipes, the world’s number one digital food brand, needed a better way to manage increasingly complex deployments across multiple websites, mobile apps, and web services. As their infrastructure and release process grew, their homegrown tools and manual deployment approach were becoming hard to maintain, especially as they expanded into AWS and infrastructure-as-code workflows. They turned to Inedo’s BuildMaster to replace their aging deployment system.

Inedo’s BuildMaster was implemented to orchestrate Allrecipes’ releases, integrate with source control, automated tests, chat notifications, and scripting tools, and help standardize deployments across 77 web and service hosts, 15 deployables, and 5 major deployment plans. After a period of dry runs and parallel deployments, Allrecipes achieved parity with its old process and moved to BuildMaster exclusively, making deployments more manageable, flexible, and easier to improve over time.
