ABANCA, a European bank operating across multiple banking platforms and languages, needed to comply with an EU mandate requiring banks to create APIs while also improving how it packaged and deployed software. As the bank’s architecture team looked for a way to support a modern package-based development approach without exposing developers to risky public feeds, it turned to Inedo’s ProGet.

Using Inedo’s ProGet as a universal package manager, ABANCA privatized and cached third-party packages, unified feeds for NuGet, Maven, Bower, and NPM, and enabled builds to pull consistent libraries from a compilation server before deploying to production. The result was a more secure, standardized release process that helped ABANCA automate delivery of 35 applications and projects in about a year, months ahead of the EU deadline, while also improving deployment quality and consistency.
