A Industrial Training International (Interplay Learning) Case Study
The customer, CMOC, operates the Tenke Fungurume Mine, the largest copper and cobalt mine in Africa. A significant challenge was providing advanced rigging training for 12 supervisors responsible for over 4,000 employees, which was complicated by a language barrier as the primary language at the site is French. Industrial Training International (Interplay Learning) was engaged to provide a solution.
Industrial Training International (Interplay Learning) deployed a French-speaking instructor to the Democratic Republic of Congo to conduct on-site, advanced rigging training. All student materials were translated into French, and the instructor adapted the course to focus on hands-on field work to overcome educational barriers. The result was two successful back-to-back five-day training sessions that equipped the supervisors with a strong foundation of rigging knowledge to improve worksite safety.
