SmartWash Solutions, a food-safety technology company based in Salinas, California, needed a better way to help customers collect, analyze, and share real-time wash-water and safety data while meeting Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) requirements. To support this effort, SmartWash partnered with Inductive Automation and built its Process ProData Live (PPDL) platform on Ignition, the vendor’s industrial HMI/SCADA and IIoT application platform.

Using Inductive Automation’s Ignition, SmartWash created a scalable, database-centric system that lets customers deploy new sites quickly, standardize configurations, and view trends, reports, and dashboards from anywhere with internet access. The solution improved troubleshooting, enabled remote support, and gave customers historical data for audits and tracebacks; SmartWash says the project quadrupled in size and the number of customers tripled, and it now serves 40 customers in eight countries.
