A Inductive Automation Case Study
Metaldom, a leading steel manufacturer in the Caribbean and Central America, faced challenges with slow, untrusted data due to a manual Manufacturing Execution System (MES). This led to errors, poor visibility, and increased downtime. They turned to vendor Inductive Automation and their Ignition platform to develop a custom MES solution.
Inductive Automation, working with system integrator Intelca, implemented a flexible Ignition-based MES that integrated with SAP via Sepasoft modules. This eliminated manual data entry and provided real-time production monitoring. The solution resulted in vastly improved data visibility, quicker decision-making, and enhanced operational efficiency. The project was so successful that Metaldom plans to extend the MES across additional plants.
