Global Ground Support - Customer Case Study

Global Ground Support, a manufacturer of airline and airport ground-support equipment, needed a better way to track deicing trucks, operators, and fluid usage across its global operations. The company wanted a cost-effective, web-based system that could automate data collection, reduce manual input, and provide remote visibility into truck status and performance. It turned to Inductive Automation’s Ignition platform, with support from R Systems and Inductive Automation’s Design Services, to build the solution.

Inductive Automation helped Global Ground Support implement MIDAS (Management, Information, Database and Accounting System), an Ignition-based telemetry system that lets authorized users view live data from deicing trucks over the internet. The system streamlined operations, improved accountability for deicing time and fluid use, and helped reduce operating costs and environmental impact by minimizing fluid consumption. With Inductive Automation’s Ignition, Global Ground Support exceeded its original goals and created a more effective, fully automated system.
