A Inductive Automation Case Study
Engie, a global leader in low-carbon energy and services, needed to modernize the SCADA systems across its 18 hydroelectric power plants in Spain. Its existing environment included outdated Wonderware systems, making it difficult to optimize energy forecasting, control plant performance, and maximize profit in the energy market.
Engie implemented Inductive Automation’s Ignition platform, including Ignition Edge, MQTT, AWS-hosted central control, and Ignition Perspective for mobile access. The new solution improved efficiency, maintenance, data visibility, forecasting, and remote operations, while enabling predictive maintenance, faster issue diagnosis, and better production planning; Engie has already deployed it in five plants and plans to roll it out to the remaining 13.
