A Inductive Automation Case Study
Enerchem, a leader in hydrocarbon drilling and fracturing fluids, operates a crude oil fractionation facility in Slave Lake, Alberta. The plant was struggling with an outdated HMI/SCADA system that was difficult to manage, lacked accessible reporting, and required two to three operators per panel to control processes efficiently.
Inductive Automation implemented Ignition, its cross-platform HMI, SCADA, and MES platform, with OPC-UA connectivity, a database-backed reporting environment, remote access, and user accounts. The new system let one operator manage 10 to 15 processes at once, reduced labor needs, improved data access and control, and increased yield efficiency and profitability for Enerchem.
