Case Study: Dublin Airport Improves Baggage Handling with Inductive Automation’s Ignition

A Inductive Automation Case Study

Preview of the Dublin Airport Case Study

Dublin Airport - Customer Case Study

Dublin Airport needed to replace an aging, proprietary baggage-handling SCADA system in Terminal 2 that was costly, difficult to maintain, and nearing end of life. The airport worked with Inductive Automation and Brock Solutions to support a more flexible, real-time solution for monitoring baggage conveyors and improving operations.

Inductive Automation’s Ignition platform, implemented through Brock Solutions’ SmartSuite including SmartSort and SmartVision, delivered an open, expandable SCADA system with about 100,000 tags, 2,300 visualizations, and connectivity to 14 PLCs. The new system improved reliability and redundancy, helped maintain 99.9% availability, reduced manual encoding by 30%, and gave Dublin Airport a scalable foundation for future projects.
