A Inductive Automation Case Study
City Corporation, which operates the Russellville Water and Sewer System in Arkansas, needed a more flexible and cost-effective HMI/SCADA platform to manage its growing utility operations. Working with Inductive Automation and system integrator Brown Engineers, the utility selected Ignition to replace its previous tag-based system and support water treatment, distribution, sewer treatment, and collection.
Inductive Automation’s Ignition platform was implemented with redundant HMI servers, nearly 38,000 tags, and alarm and reporting capabilities across the utility’s facilities. The upgrade went live without interrupting operations, gave staff more accessible data for daily decisions, lowered maintenance and expansion costs, and reduced site visits. Inductive Automation also helped City Corporation streamline sanitary sewer overflow reporting with a mobile app, cutting paper use and speeding calculations and submissions to ADEQ.
