Castle & Key, a revitalized bourbon distillery, faced operational challenges due to an outdated FactoryTalk system that lacked historical data, making long-term planning and process refinement difficult. To modernize their facility and improve data accessibility, they partnered with vendor Inductive Automation and systems integrator Gray AES to implement the Ignition platform.

The solution involved deploying Ignition with the Perspective and Tag Historian modules, creating a mobile-responsive, high-performance HMI system. This provided operators with improved visualization, alarming, and, most critically, access to historical data for identifying trends and anomalies. The implementation by Inductive Automation and Gray AES was completed with zero production downtime and has allowed Castle & Key to drive consistency, refine its processes, and make data-informed decisions for future production.
