A Inductive Automation Case Study
ARB Midstream, a Denver-based midstream and marketing company, faced a major challenge after acquiring a crude oil pipeline system in Texas and Oklahoma: it had only six months to launch operations across 37 sites while also upgrading hardware, building a new network, and creating a control room from scratch. To meet the deadline, the company worked with vendor Inductive Automation, using Ignition for HMI/SCADA along with edge computing and cloud-ready architecture.
Inductive Automation and system integrator Industrial Networking Solutions delivered a cloud-hosted SCADA solution that combined Ignition, MQTT, Ignition Edge, and AWS, supported by a secure SD-WAN and cellular networking. The result was a fully operational control center built in three and a half months and a pipeline system brought online one day before the six-month deadline. The new architecture reduced data-plane utilization by 35% on the first day and gave ARB a scalable, secure platform for future growth.
