Mumbai Airport Helps Travelers To Navigate In The Terminal

Mumbai International Airport, operator of Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai, wanted to create a seamless and memorable passenger experience while encouraging more time for shopping and dining in the terminal. To meet this goal, the airport worked with IndoorAtlas to add indoor location-based features to its Mumbai T2 mobile app, including gate directions, store and facility search, and travel notifications.

Using IndoorAtlas’s geomagnetic positioning technology with support from system integrator Next Byte Wave Technologies, the airport launched an indoor navigation guide, airport maps, and augmented reality navigation. The solution helped travelers find their way more easily, improved satisfaction, reduced boarding issues, and increased sales at airport outlets and eateries, while also enabling personalized offers and more efficient use of passenger time.
