Top 50 retailer built a browser plugin to alert shoppers when the retailer had the same product at a lower price, aiming to capture revenue from customers browsing competitor and non-traditional ecommerce sites. The pilot showed high adoption but a low match rate because their internal product database missed long‑tail sites, so they turned to Indix (using Indix Data-as-a-Service / the Indix Product API) to expand product coverage.

Indix supplied broad product information (including the Offers Premium endpoint of the Indix Product API), enabling the plugin to match across nearly a billion product URLs, 148+ million UPCs, 654+ million SKUs and over 600,000 sellers. As a result, Indix boosted the retailer’s match rate by 300% (3x), dramatically increasing plugin-driven traffic and tripling the opportunity for shoppers to be routed to the retailer’s lower-price offers.
