Indium Software worked with a Tier-1 Automotive Parts Supplier group company that was building connected car and telematics solutions. The customer’s plug-and-play IoT product captured event logs, trip details, engine data, and battery health, and needed a scalable way to handle real-time alerts while also powering analytics to improve trip planning, driver monitoring, and vehicle health insights.

Indium Software designed a lambda-style big data architecture with batch and speed layers, using Kafka, MongoDB, HBase, Spark MLlib, and Storm to process both streaming events and analytics workloads. The team also developed custom driver score and trip optimization algorithms, and the solution was successfully launched as a safety and convenience product that is now rebranded and sold by international automobile manufacturers.
