Indium Software worked with a leading Italian bank, a 130+ year-old financial institution with more than 300 branches across Europe and Asia. The bank was using a Cloudera Enterprise-based big data platform with SOLR for text analytics, but one search query in production was taking up to 3 days to run, creating a major performance challenge.

Indium Software analyzed the environment, infrastructure, JVM, and SOLR configuration, then implemented an advanced query parser and algorithm, along with recommendations for schema, shard, and JVM tuning. As a result, query processing time dropped from 3 days to 3 minutes, and the bank awarded Indium Software a follow-on project to build a real-time system log mining application to detect unknown performance patterns.
