Qwilt, a company delivering edge-cloud solutions for high-quality streaming, has an R&D team of about 30 engineers developing in C++ and Python on Linux using Ninja and SCons. They struggled with very long builds—up to 60 minutes—and servers becoming nearly unresponsive when 3–4 parallel builds ran; core usage limits (six cores per user) and heterogeneous development environments prevented other tools from working. Qwilt selected Incredibuild (Incredibuild for Linux) to tackle these issues.

Incredibuild implemented a distributed computing and load‑balancing solution that lets Qwilt pool resources, support mixed server environments, and increase per‑build core allocation up to 40 cores. The result: compilation time fell from 60 minutes to about 20 minutes, server utilization is far smoother with no responsiveness peaks, and developers can run builds much more frequently and efficiently thanks to Incredibuild.
