Milestone - Customer Case Study

Milestone, a Milan-based AAA game developer behind racing franchises like Superbike and MotoGP, was hampered by very long Unreal Engine 4 compile and build times that slowed daily development and iteration across multiple branches. To address this, Milestone adopted IncrediBuild to accelerate compilation for developers and build machines, including shader compilation and CI workflows.

IncrediBuild was integrated across developer machines, Jenkins-based CI, technical artists’ workstations and multi-platform target builds (PC, Xbox, PlayStation), dramatically reducing turnaround time: Unreal Editor rebuilds fell from 51 to 8 minutes, game compiles (Win64/PS4/Xbox One) from 1h47 to 14 minutes, and game cooking from 9h36 to 4h28. IncrediBuild’s distribution also sped shader builds and editor startup, improved iteration for artists, and is being eyed for distributed neural-network training.
