A Incredibuild Case Study
Electronic Arts used Autodesk Maya to convert tens of thousands of SIMS 3 asset files, but running mayabatch.exe serially on a single 16‑CPU machine meant builds took about 4 hours and slowed development. To cut that runtime, Electronic Arts turned to Incredibuild, using its XGE (Xoreax Grid Engine) acceleration technology to parallelize Maya processing across available machines.
Incredibuild’s XGE distributed mayabatch jobs to 7 workstations (about 108 CPUs), running remotely without impacting users and copying outputs back to the host for final packing; this reduced Maya runtimes from 4 hours to 40 minutes (6× faster). In lab tests with 32 CPUs, XGE cut a 26‑minute run to 52 seconds (25×+), required no new servers, took about 4 hours to enable, and freed EA to meet deadlines, add features, and save infrastructure costs.
