AlgoTec, a Carestream company developing the CARESTREAM Vue medical imaging platform, faced very long Visual Studio build times across a rapidly growing C++ codebase (hundreds of projects and millions of lines), with full rebuilds taking up to 3+ hours. These slow compilations—exacerbated by macros, TLB imports and custom build steps—blocked developer feedback loops and prevented frequent integration and automated testing, so AlgoTec engaged Incredibuild and deployed its Visual Studio build-acceleration solution (agents installed on developer machines to leverage networked resources).

Incredibuild’s distributed build solution cut compilation times dramatically—smaller projects dropped from ~30 minutes to ~3 minutes (~90% faster) and the largest project went from 190 minutes to about 34 minutes (~80% faster) after tuning with Incredibuild experts. As a result, AlgoTec moved from one nightly build to multiple daily builds, implemented full continuous integration, expanded automated testing and nightly deployment, and achieved faster feedback, higher productivity and improved software quality.
