Axalta Coating Systems LLC, a coatings company, faced the challenge of analyzing massive volumes of high-throughput screening data. Their existing Oracle PL/SQL statistical toolset was not robust enough to meet their demanding analysis needs, and exporting data to external applications was a time-consuming process. The consultant for Axalta turned to the IMSL C Numerical Library (CNL) from Perforce to provide the required advanced statistical routines.

The solution used Oracle's external procedure feature to call functions from the IMSL C Numerical Library directly from PL/SQL. This eliminated the need for data export and allowed for complex analysis to be performed almost instantly within the Oracle environment. The implementation by IMSL by Perforce resulted in a significant productivity enhancement, saving time and money by accelerating both application development and the analysis process itself for Axalta's researchers.
