Virtualization and SSO removes technology overhead from clinical workflows

Moffitt Cancer Center, a top‑ranked 206‑bed hospital in Tampa, Florida, needed to reduce technology overhead that was slowing clinicians and to rapidly migrate to Windows 7 without disrupting care. The IT team also had to ensure fast adoption across the clinical enterprise so providers could spend less time on logins and more on patients.

Moffitt deployed virtual desktop infrastructure with single sign‑on and zero‑client endpoints (including badge/fingerprint No Click Access), rolling out broadly across clinics—reaching 85% in eight months and ultimately 95% of the clinical enterprise. The deployment cut login times to three seconds or less, supported peaks of about 1,500 concurrent virtual desktops, and streamlined workflows to improve clinician efficiency and patient care.
