University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust - Customer Case Study

University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust (UH Bristol) is a major UK teaching hospital group operating across nine sites with thousands of staff and a wide regional catchment. Facing a Clinical Systems Strategy to replace multiple legacy ICT systems, the Trust struggled with lost productivity from clinicians repeatedly logging into 150+ applications and needed to tighten access to sensitive patient data while meeting Information Governance and ICO requirements.

To address this, UH Bristol deployed Imprivata OneSign single sign-on to around 5,200 users after a proof of concept, integrating with existing infrastructure without major changes. The rollout simplified access, cut password-related helpdesk calls, improved auditing and security compliance, saved clinician time, and created a platform to support future Clinical Systems Strategy deployments.
