Case Study: Spencer Hospital achieves secure, convenient bedside access and reduced helpdesk calls with Imprivata OneSign

A Imprivata Case Study

Preview of the Spencer Hospital Case Study

Providing secure, convenient bedside access to patient data

Spencer Hospital is a 99-bed facility with two family-practice clinics, multiple specialty centers, and about 600 employees. Clinicians frequently lost productivity and risked security breaches during rounds because short screen time-outs forced repeated logins and a failed USB key system generated frustration and heavy helpdesk demand.

The hospital deployed the Imprivata OneSign appliance for single sign-on and fingerprint biometric authentication, rolling it out across nursing units and physician workstations. Implementation was quick and well adopted, enabling automatic sign-offs, instant bedside access to authorized applications, fewer helpdesk calls, stronger password policies, and improved clinician productivity and data security.
