A Imprivata Case Study
Memorial Healthcare System (MHS), a large public health system serving southern Florida with 13,000 employees, 2,500 physicians and six hospitals, struggled with rapid growth that produced overwhelming PHI access data — more than ten patient‑record access alerts per week. That volume, plus siloed security and privacy teams and a prior privacy incident, left MHS unable to reliably detect, investigate, mitigate, and remediate security incidents or ensure Epic access compliance across employed and affiliated providers.
MHS deployed Imprivata FairWarning Patient Privacy Intelligence and Managed Privacy Services alongside tighter policies, zero‑tolerance enforcement and enterprise training to unify investigations and clarify workflows. The program cut specific security alerts by 90% (from roughly one a day to one a week), saved the equivalent of two FTEs in investigation time, enabled full lifecycle incident management, produced successful OCR/privacy audits, and created a sustainable roadmap for proactive patient‑privacy monitoring.
