KDMC optimizes clinical mobility for greater efficiency and patient care

King’s Daughters Medical Center (KDMC) is a 99‑bed acute care hospital in Brookhaven, MS, known for high employee satisfaction and quality care. Facing the need to streamline clinical workflows, increase face‑time with patients, improve the efficiency of medication administration, and boost adoption of clinical mobile devices, KDMC migrated to MEDITECH Expanse and sought a mobile solution that preserved clinician efficiency and security.

KDMC deployed MEDITECH Expanse Point of Care on Zebra TC51‑HC handhelds and integrated Imprivata OneSign single sign‑on and Mobile Device Access through a MEDITECH‑endorsed partnership (ACS MediHealth and Forward Advantage). The integration extended SSO to mobile devices, consolidated EMR and barcode scanning at bedside, produced wide clinician adoption, saved nursing time, and in some areas enabled nearly 100% medication administration via the devices.
