Walmart uses Apache Druid to Track Competitor Pricing in Real Time

Walmart needed a way to monitor competitor pricing in real time and respond quickly to market shifts. To support this use case, Walmart worked with Imply, using Apache Druid to replace Elasticsearch for fast, real-time analytics over massive event streams.

With Imply’s Druid-based platform, Walmart achieved near sub-second query latency and scalable ingestion for nearly 1B events per day, representing about 2TB of raw data. The team said the system met most requirements and scaled well, giving Walmart cost-effective, interactive visibility into pricing data at very large scale.
