Case Study: Dream11 achieves real-time, scalable analytics and cost savings with Imply

A Imply Case Study

Preview of the Dream11 Case Study

Real-time data and analytics for fantasy sports

Dream11, India’s largest fantasy sports platform, faced exploding scale and fragmented analytics: over 2.5 million concurrent users, 3 billion daily events (4.5+ TB/day) and legacy pipelines that split interactional and transactional data across different systems, causing analytics delays of 24 hours to 5 days and inability to support real‑time views at high concurrency. After evaluating Apache Druid, Dream11 moved to Imply (Imply Cloud) to build an in‑house, time‑series analytics foundation to centralize reporting, map user journeys, and deliver real‑time metrics.

Using Imply to ingest 900+ Kafka topics into Apache Druid, Dream11 now has raw, real‑time access to event data and self‑service analytics for non‑technical users. Imply‑powered Druid handles ~20 million requests per minute today (projected to reach 80M), retains ~15 TB for 10 days with ~5 TB/day ingestion, and replaced the prior web analytics stack — eliminating sampling and multi‑day delays, enabling Top N dashboards and cross‑platform user mapping, and delivering faster reporting, improved security, and significant cost savings.
