Yokogawa Deploys WAF Gateway for Amazon Web Services to Ensure Optimum Website Security

Yokogawa Electric, a 100‑plus‑year global industrial technology company, moved its customer portals and service systems from on‑premises to Amazon Web Services to cut costs and improve incident response. As website attacks increased—especially during holiday periods—the company needed robust application protection that could secure multiple VPCs yet be managed by on‑site staff who are not security specialists.

Yokogawa deployed Imperva WAF Gateway for AWS, which provided a centralized security gateway compatible with VPC peering, easy installation and tuning, and integration with S3/Splunk logging. The WAF cut routine security workload, freed the former web security manager from manual log checks and patch policing, and let staff focus on higher‑value tasks; the system has operated smoothly since deployment and Yokogawa plans a user group to further optimize use.
