Tower, a 150-year-old New Zealand insurer operating across New Zealand and the Pacific, set out to become a digital-first business but found its previous web security was a “black box.” The security team needed real-time, granular visibility into web traffic and stronger protections—bot and DDoS defenses, SIEM integration, self-service for non-security teams, simple pricing, and easy configuration—to support rapid, multi-geography rollouts.

Working with partner Advantage, Tower deployed Imperva Cloud WAF after a successful proof-of-concept in late 2020 and migrated multiple sites in under six weeks. Imperva delivered near-real-time traffic visibility, robust application-layer protection with low false positives, simple self-service controls and faster, more efficient migrations—yielding positive user feedback and plans to expand protections with Advanced Bot Protection.
