A Imperva Case Study
A leading health insurer engaged Imperva after its security and privacy policy forbade any private health information in non-production environments. The client needed to create synchronized, portable subsets of a complex application landscape—including a 6.5 TB Facets core, 3.2 TB of modules and 2.8 TB of additional apps—while uniformly masking PII, preserving relational integrity, meeting tight storage/CPU/time constraints, and making the process repeatable with minimal resources.
Imperva used Camouflage technology and professional services to define subsetting and masking criteria with application owners, created Functional Masking and Subsetting Documents (FMD/FSD), and delivered a repeatable process and knowledge transfer. The client now self-manages the workflow—reducing and masking the collective >13 TB dataset (including producing 1 TB and 350 GB Facets subsets), with infrastructure tuning advice implemented to support ongoing performance and administration.
