Indiegala Ramps Up Security of Its Online Gaming Distribution Platform

Indiegala is a digital game-distribution platform with over 3.2 million registered users, 2,000+ titles and 2.5–3 million monthly sessions processing about 85,000 payments per month. Although hosted on Google Cloud, the company lacked application-level security and visibility to stop sophisticated bots, targeted attacks and DDoS threats, and needed granular controls (custom rules, IP/country blacklists and rate limits) without disrupting legitimate users.

Indiegala chose Imperva’s cloud‑based service—combining an enterprise WAF and global CDN—to filter malicious traffic, deploy custom IncapRules and block automated attacks. Imperva stopped brute‑force and key‑theft bots, mitigated two large network DDoS events (the largest 17.8 Gbps) with no downtime, and delivered improved site performance and lower bandwidth costs after a one‑week deployment.
