Imperva Skyfence Secures Office 365 Access for Mobile Employees at Metro Bank

Metro Bank, Britain’s first new High Street bank in over 100 years, needed to enable mobile employees to use Office 365, Yammer and other cloud apps while protecting sensitive customer and company data. Although the bank used AirWatch MDM for corporate devices, access had been restricted to the corporate network; the challenge was to allow off‑network access for managed devices and limited BYOD access to Yammer, while maintaining visibility, detecting stolen credentials or malicious behavior, and meeting PCI DSS requirements.

Metro Bank deployed the Imperva Skyfence Cloud Gateway as a cloud‑based inline proxy integrated with AirWatch, using certificate‑based self‑service enrollment and policy controls to limit full Office 365 access to managed corporate devices and permit controlled Yammer access from personal devices. The solution was implemented in days, delivering granular visibility, real‑time anomaly detection and blocking, PCI DSS compliance for cloud access, and secure off‑site access that boosted productivity and collaboration across stores.
