Spencerport Central School District - Customer Case Study

Spencerport Central School District, a K–12 district in New York with 6 sites, ~3,900 students and about 5,000 devices, needed a classroom-monitoring and internet‑safety solution after SMART Sync was discontinued. The district selected Impero Software’s Impero Education Pro to replace SMART Sync and support its full Windows 1:1 rollout, classroom management and digital citizenship initiatives.

Impero Education Pro was deployed alongside SCCM to provide live thumbnail monitoring, one‑click student logon, chat, log viewers and internet‑safety alerts. The solution let teachers spot off‑task students at a glance, cut morning logon time (previously up to 10 minutes) with a single click, and enabled staff to receive alerts that helped identify three at‑risk students who received timely support. Impero Software’s wake‑on‑LAN, task manager and power‑management features also boosted IT efficiency (a weekend test left only three machines powered on), and the district plans to add 1,500 more licenses.
