GetSmarter aces its influencer campaign goals with a cool 8m+ impressions

GetSmarter, an edX/2U-backed provider of market-led executive education, wanted to raise brand awareness and drive sign-ups for University of Cape Town courses among South African students and entrepreneurs. The challenge was to create authentic, attention-grabbing content that would convert interest into measurable course registrations.

GetSmarter partnered with impact.com to recruit 16 diverse South African influencers to produce long-form UGC (Reels, TikToks, YouTube) with a 20% promo code, custom tracking links, and paid amplification. The campaign produced 78 pieces of UGC, exceeded 8M impressions (1.5M+ reach), drove 620K+ clicks with a $0.01 CPC and $2.88 CPM, and delivered 264 tracked actions—surpassing campaign expectations.
