Welsh Assembly Government - Customer Case Study

Impact International worked with the Welsh Assembly Government (WAG), the devolved government for Wales, as it managed a major change agenda and the merger of several organisations. The challenge was to build management board leadership capability and support senior leaders through a wider programme of management development.

Impact International delivered a range of leadership and management development initiatives, including work with the Management Board, a Senior Management Development Programme, a Core Programme, and a 360-degree feedback tool based on the Professional Skills for Government Competency Framework. Impact also helped create a Senior Management Faculty for 140 senior civil servants, launched a Shadow Management Board, and designed a three-year leadership programme for around 75 high-potential employees per year. The result was stronger strategic direction, new group behaviours, and a highly valued, bespoke approach that the HR Director said had real business impact and the trust of people across the organisation.
