Stryker Corporation, a global leader in medical technology, wanted to help its managers work together more effectively. After 1:1 conversations with the managers, the goal was to give them a new context to observe themselves and each other, exchange honest feedback, and identify behaviors that would help create a high-performing team. Impact International supported the program with a team development and leadership learning approach.
Impact International designed an innovative Learning Journey that blended experiential team exercises with a Community Action Learning project. The managers were challenged through practical activities and then applied their new team skills by visiting a prison and working with inmates who were running a not-for-profit organization. The experience was described as highly effective for both professional and personal development, helping the managers demonstrate stronger team behaviors while the prisoners benefited from new managerial approaches; the partnership was also expected to continue independently.
