Knowsley Council, the local authority for Knowsley Metropolitan Borough in Merseyside, England, wanted to tackle unemployment by helping local people gain the skills needed to fill vacancies in the hotel and hospitality sector. Impact International partnered with the council to design a learning and development programme that combined practical experience, transferable workplace skills, and personal development.

Impact International delivered a 14-week integrated learning journey that included a residential event, a two-week hotel placement in the UK, and nine weeks in France with French language learning, catering college, and further experiential training. The programme was highly successful: it attracted strong interest for just 10 places, and all participants secured permanent employment upon completion.
