A Impact International Case Study
Co-op, the UK’s fifth biggest food retailer and one of the world’s largest consumer co-operatives, wanted to become the UK’s number one convenience retailer. To support this transformation, it needed to improve operating efficiencies and ways of working, especially in stores, after previous change programmes had failed to drive consistent implementation. Impact International was brought in to help Co-op rework its change approach and engage Area Managers as key enablers of the business transformation.
Impact International implemented the “Leading the Way” programme, combining consultancy, large-scale change conferences, workshops, and 1:1 coaching to build a coaching culture around honest conversations and leadership action. The results were strong: quarterly change events were revamped, managers adopted more coaching-led behaviours, executives became more aligned, and 95% of evaluation respondents said Impact’s delivery style was engaging. In addition, 100% of participants felt prepared to brief their teams on the change messages.
