Impact Analytics worked with a US Based Billion-Dollar Retailer to optimize its product portfolio and sales strategy. The retailer needed a data-driven way to identify complementary product categories, plan cross-selling campaigns, target customers based on purchase patterns, and improve basket size and customer engagement, using Impact Analytics’ product affinity sales solution.

Impact Analytics applied market basket analysis and other ML-based methods to POS and transaction data to uncover product relationships, recommend better store layouts, and power personalized recommendations. The retailer then reorganized planograms, launched a recommendation engine and “Recommended Products” on e-commerce, and created bundled offers and coupons, resulting in more than a 15% increase in basket size, a 25% increase in store visits, and an incremental $3 million in FY 2017, with $2.5 million in EBITDA attributed to the solution.
