How a Top Manufacturer Unlocked Employee Data for HR Analytics

Leading Manufacturing Company, a multinational consumer-products manufacturer with more than 70,000 employees, faced a challenge: quarterly HR surveys and multiple HR systems generated thousands of data sets used by roughly 9,000 consumers, but access required manual logins across five systems and strict privacy rules (GDPR/European Work Councils). To centralize analytics while protecting individual privacy, the company selected Immuta and its data access platform with privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) and dynamic policy enforcement to enable anonymization (including k-anonymization) across Qualtrics, Snowflake, SAP and Power BI.

Immuta implemented automated sensitive data discovery, attribute-based policies enforced at query time, and PETs to safely de-identify and combine HR data, enabling scalable self-service analytics. As a result, Immuta helped the company unlock up to 80% of HR data for analysis, cut published data sets by nearly 50% (from ~500 to 256), simplify data management, reduce exposure risk, and save time and operating expense by removing manual data-cleaning processes.
