Ministry of Defence Expands Cyber Preparedness with Immersive Labs

The United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defence (MOD) needed to move beyond one-off, selective on-site certification courses to a continuous, inclusive cyber upskilling program across the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force. To solve persistent skill fade, uneven availability and poor retention, the MOD partnered with Immersive Labs and adopted the Immersive Labs Cyber Resilience platform.

Immersive Labs made its platform available to all MOD personnel, running monthly cyber-range team exercises for 150 participants, providing commanding officers with team and individual performance data and prescribing hands-on lab skill paths. As a result, team response accuracy rose more than 5x from the first exercises (with some teams reaching 97% accuracy), MITRE technique coverage exceeded 98% across 227 techniques, and the MOD achieved greater training continuity, faster onboarding and clearer cyber career pathways.
