Case Study: HSBC reduces cyber risk and boosts global cyber skills with Immersive Labs

A Immersive Labs Case Study

Preview of the HSBC Case Study

Immersive Labs’ Threat Intelligence Labs Help HSBC Reduce Cyber Risk

HSBC, one of the world’s largest banking and financial services organizations, needed a way to continuously develop practical cyber skills across its global cyber operations teams and to evidence consistent, role-relevant upskilling regardless of location. To meet that need, HSBC partnered with Immersive Labs and deployed the Immersive Labs platform and Threat Intelligence Labs to deliver highly engaging, threat-led exercises aligned to the bank’s standards.

Immersive Labs rolled out the platform across HSBC’s teams (UK, Poland, Germany, US, Mexico, India, Hong Kong), mapped skills to MITRE ATT&CK and NIST NICE, and produced rapid offensive and defensive labs for emerging vulnerabilities (notably the F5 BIG-IP critical flaw). The solution delivered measurable impact: over 200 analysts and threat hunters using the platform, nearly 5,000 hours of learning in year one, and 99% coverage across the MITRE ATT&CK framework, while improving visibility, assignment of the right responders, and the ability to demonstrate and mitigate real-world risks to management.
