A Immense Case Study
England’s Economic Heartland needed a data-driven way to plan a 30-year transport strategy for the Oxford-Cambridge corridor, as the region faces rapid growth, rising pressure on transport and infrastructure, and the need to understand how housing and job development will affect mobility, the economy, and the environment. Vendor Immense provided a digital decision-support approach to help the customer explore future scenarios and support sustainable regional planning.
Immense built a digital replication of the region’s transportation system using multiple data sources to model traveller behavior and real-world movement patterns. The platform lets England’s Economic Heartland simulate housing growth, job creation, and shared mobility initiatives, helping them assess impacts on transport, economy, energy, and environment; it has also improved strategic planning, partner engagement, and evidence gathering for the regional transport strategy, reducing the need for external spend by building in-house insights.
