Canadian Security Association - Customer Case Study

Canadian Security Association (CANASA), founded in 1977, is a national not‑for‑profit representing more than 1,300 security industry organizations across 11 chapters. CANASA relied on multiple legacy systems — including a customized Access database — that caused data integrity problems, inefficiency, high support costs and an inability to centrally manage bilingual member/event data, accounting integration and large conference registrations while remaining PCI compliant.

By moving to iMIS, CANASA consolidated member, website, accounting and event data into a single platform, added e‑commerce and web services, and gained better business intelligence and auditable financial reporting. The upgrade delivered a more stable, low‑customization solution, now processing over 20,000 online and onsite registrations, simplifying large conference management, and reducing registration support calls through a custom single‑sign‑on email login — completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
