California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists - Customer Case Study

The California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), representing 29,000 licensed therapists, needed a more efficient, personalized way for members to communicate—especially to engage younger, social-network–savvy professionals. CAMFT wanted to replace 10 listservs and paper-based distribution of presentations and proposals to reduce administrative burden, printing/postage costs, and staff time.

Using iMIS, CAMFT launched a private online community with wikis, forums, customizable member profiles, a unified website/community login, interest-based groups, and a shared content library. Within four months community participation exceeded prior listserv activity, unwanted emails declined, mailing and listserv overhead were eliminated, and staff now spend about 20 minutes a day managing community activity, freeing time and funds for core mission work.
